Your Race Day Story

Picture this: It's race day.

You wake before dawn, it's dark and you're nervous-excited.

You grab your vest, fill up your bottles, stash a couple gels, zip your phone, headphones and a chap stick, because you never know.

You get to the start line. It's a bit chilly this morning, you're nervous, but when that gun goes off and you make your first few steps and the herd of runners starts to move, you know, you're prepared for this.

You get to the 5k mark, check of the watch, on pace, slightly quicker, you slow down a bit.

Aid station is 3k away, but you can feel your throat is a little dry. You lower your neck slightly and take a quick sip from your soft bottle. Sorted.

At 15k the sun peeks through the trees, and it's heating up. You take another few leisurely slips and refocus.

There's now 5km left and you're pushing hard. But energy is getting low, you grab a gel, down it, and push on.

You're hydrated, fuelled and powering to the finish line.

It's becoming a blur but the crowd is cheering you on and you see the arches. All that training, this is your moment.

You've done it.

The feeling is unrivalled. You glance down at your finisher's medial and take a big gulp of water.

You were prepared & unstoppable today.
