Hello from Sydney Mara expo

I'm currently standing in our booth at the Sydney Marathon Expo writing this email. There's 20 mins until the doors open to kick off the first Sydney Major.

Yesterday was what I call 'Day 0'.

Bump in day.

It doesn't matter how many times you do a bump-in, it's bloody hard.

It doesn't matter if you're a seasoned veteran, or like me, only completed a handful of big-scale events.

Everyone is hurting by the end of the day.

Before I started activating Runly at major marathons, I certainly did not appreciate the level of effort that goes into each and every activation that you see - from the big companies to the smaller brands.

As I stand here, there's definitely a humming sense of excitement in the air.

The anticipation for this year - the first of the majors, is evident.

It's all anyone can talk about, and for good reason.

It's an incredible, monumental occasion for the Australian running landscape.

A pleasure to be here, and to be a small part of it.

I have to keep this short, because runners are about to start flowing through this enormous expo.

Honestly, this is a runner's dream.

I've never seen anything like it.

Brands have made a huge splash here, some of the activations from big brands like ASICS, Samsung and more are out of this world.

Truly, you could spend hours here.

But don't forget the handful of Aussie brands here, they (and us) are showcasing Australia's running brands to a worldwide audience.

Eeeeep.

Just heard a loud cheer.

That means the first runners have just collected their bib.

Got to go.
